2017 Reflections

It's going to sound cliche but every year since recovering from an eating disorder has just become better and better. 2017, is no exception. In fact, it's probably up there as one of the best years yet.

It's been the year of growth, love, travel and simply accepting life. I've been privileged enough to visit Poland, Ireland, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Germany and Hungary. I've eaten dinner overlooking the old town of Dubrovnik, swam in Bosnian waterfall, fallen down a ramp and badly bruised my tailbone in Budapest (causing both laughter and weeks of agonising pain). I've sat in Irish bars watching scouse ladies dance, I've freezed my tits off in Warsaw, learnt about WW2 in both Poland and Germany. I've visited London twice to see Kinky Boots the Musical, I've tried new foods such as Bratwurst and Schnitzel, and I walked the London Marathon for breast cancer research.

I've played Cinderella in Pantomine and wore the amazing disney blue dress and glass slippers, I've completed 75% of my masters and hoping to get a job with a child protection team at the end. I've become addicted to Pokemon Go (and still am), I've watched fireworks on bonfire night, and I've discovered a new found love for fitness and weight lifting. I've transformed my attitude towards exercise, only going for enjoyment and strength rather than to soul-destroyingly burn calories on a treadmill.

I have read 20 books, made some new friends and rekindled old friendships, and value the importance of family and hard work. I have learnt that I will never say no to a nandos and cinema date, watched the entire Game of Thrones series and said goodbye to my Great Nan at the age of 103.

I have loved dearly and will continue to do so.

I will continue to develop my love for life in 2018, and I hope you can too. Happy New Year everyone, I hope it's a good one x

Christmas Gift Guide for Homemakers

The fifth and final gift guide. Must admit, I'm proud of myself for putting these together because I'm usually so lazy when it comes to this kind of thing.

Urban Outfitters seem to be where a lot of these things come from, and they had loads more quirky gifts to choose from. Candles, wall art, lights, bedding.. they have it covered! I know I'm having this peachy bedding for Christmas and I am so in love with it.

Anyone who has moved into their own home can always use appliances. I personally love the nutri-bullet for making smoothies but I'd love a waffle maker this year. I've seen some amazing sweet potato waffles that look amazing.

I hope I've given you some inspiration for Christmas gifting anyway.. and if not, I enjoyed making these. Happy Shopping!
